Introduction to Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction: 8-week program
An introduction to MBSR concepts will be offered in this 8-week program.
Sessions will run for 30-minutes commencing Tuesday 7th February

At its core, MBSR is based on systematic and intensive training in mindfulness meditation and ever-present awareness is the foundation for the development of positive health behaviours, psychological and mindful hatha yoga.
Embedded within the context of Mind-Body and Participatory Medicine, the MBSR curriculum focuses on the experiential cultivation of both “formal” and “informal” mindfulness practice as a means of familiarizing oneself with awareness itself (mindfulness). The recognition of an innate, emotional resilience, and an overarching sense of wellbeing that can be effectively cultivated and relied upon across the adult life span. Content will include a mindfulness meditation, gentle exploration, and discussion using current research
Research shows participant commitment to attending each session improves experiential learning and ever-present awareness
This course will be offered free of charge both online and in class to students enrolled in Term one Mud Hut yoga classes
MBSR Level One trained teacher- Marie Wycisk will be running these sessions with the potential of a future opportunity to run the full program of 2.5-hour weekly sessions across 9 weeks at full cost
